Went to my little pond again today, surprise surprise- i ended up with three more helmets, one more stickgrenade, and the bottom of a small mine of some sort.

Unbelivable all you can find if you have some patience.

I havent cleaned the items, just left them outside in the rain until later today.
(I can take more photos later if someone likes to see the stuff cleaned)

Hope you all get inspired.

Happy hunting everyone.

are you a little worried about that grenade going off. i know its old but I'm sure it can still detonate

Thank you for worrying, but this grenade don't have any explosives.

So did you know those were inert before or after you disturbed them. There is a reason the military and the govt agencies have books of policies on unexploded ordinance. I am sure we will read about yyou in paper soon.

There is a reason people read the entire thread before posting their comments.

You should try it one day!

I am a newbie to the sport of MD'ng but would love to purchase the inert grenade somehow....Great site....

This pond is natural. I am not sure how deep it is, but in the middle i belive it is ca 3meters+ deep. It has very thick mud some places so its hard to tell, but i think there are more goodies in the deep spot.

I have order an new magnet from: Buy strong neodymium magnets (industrial, school, home) - supermagnete , its the strongest this factory had- it has an lifting capasity of 124kg, and the magnet weights 620grams. I hope it will help us lift some new stuff from the pond. :P

Here is a couple of photos the factory has to show the strenght of this magnet.

How did this work out? Been thinking of trying this, wich magnet did you exactly order? And how the hell do you remove the stuff from it if it has 124 kgs of lifting capasity?? What if it sucks on to a big object you cannot pull out?

Yeah the grenade needs to go.

Anti Tank Mines will only explode if you apply pressure higher than 200 Kilograms.

The Practice Grenade is really cool. Never seen one of them. Sad your not in my country. Pretty sure Customs would go Apeshit over that thing! :)

Btw, have a magnet like this too. Feel free to ask me if you guys got any questions. Magnet Fishing gets more and more popular.

Yes,I am inspired! Very nicely preserved also.:headbang:

Fishing with a strong magnet would be a safer approach it seems.......as mentioned earlier, the pins/parts can rust, some explosives over time become unstable and simply moving it, may set it off....so the magnet would be far safer since they would explode in the water (hopefully and certainly not an absolute).

That is incredible, those helmets sure look in good shape.

Awesome finds. I love stuff from WWII.
