Hello everyone, I am posting my better finds from three hunts Wednesday, Friday, and today Sunday.

Wednesday; went out for my two and a half to three hour after work hunt where I was able to recover three silver Mercury dimes dates are 1919, 1920, and a dark 1945. Mercury dimes look really cool when they're in very wet soil near water to come out of the ground very dark.

Friday; went out for a two and half to three hour hunt and I was able to recover three Mercury dimes the dates are 1937, a dark 1944, and a 1945. I also uncovered a Washington quarter 1942 and a buffalo nickel.

Sunday; got out to a house I got permission from where I recovered two Indian head pennies 1901 and 1905. I also found what appears to be a child's sterling silver ring very ornate and then in total contrast a giants ring!

The giant ring I originally thought might be for a cloth napkin but it had writing on it. The name George Auger. Well apparently George Auger was a giant person 7' 5" he was born in 1881 and died 1920 he came to the United States in 1904 where he would tour with Barnum and Bailey Circus and the souvenir rings were manufactured ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910337.550908.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910360.911874.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910377.637256.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910393.530624.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910408.221261.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910434.300718.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910444.985610.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910458.274407.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910473.849621.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910487.392791.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431910500.262506.webp sometime around 1910. Although my Google searches have shown a lot of conflicting dates regarding the date of manufacture of these rings and also Georges height ranged anywhere from 7'5" to 8'4". Nevertheless this non-precious metal turned out to be a pretty cool find.

Enjoy the photos, and happy hunting!

Not sure what it weighs but it's heavy I really need to get a scale. I never heard of this guy either until I googled the name from the ring. This hobby amazes me you never know what will come out of ground next.

Great finds! I remember reading something about Auger a long time ago, great save, love it.

Great bunch of finds.

Looks like you had an awesome week.

That ring was the find of the day!

Loved the read, Congrats on 3 amazing short hunts:notworthy:

Neat history behind that big ring!

Awesome ring!!!!!!!! I've been hoping to find one near me, my dad tells me stories of a giant man coming around with the circus with the last name of ''Thompson''. First name was Cliff, or Clyde? Anyway he said that they would sell replica rings that you could drop a half dollar thru the middle of. Cool find for sure!

After soaking the Indians in distilled water overnight I clean them up a little with toothpicks in my fingernails until I ran out of patience. Here's the results the 1901 is in really nice shape.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431954936.122531.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431954980.886840.webp

Holy smokes, that sounds like a great year let alone 3 days! Nice finds

Very well done.... two rings and silver coins. Good enough to make me jealous anyway!

I found the same ring(or a similar giant) as yours about 6-7 yrs back, but sadly it was missing a piece out of it, IP did the ID on the ring if I can remember. Your's is the only other one I've seen posted up, very cool and congrats on the keeper.
