3 Merry Widows

I was out last Friday with my new AT Pro searching for a Union encampment near Raleigh. Found a cache of about 15 Merry widows tins buried at about 8". They were all in rough shape and caked with hardend clay soil. I cleaned the best up as best I could.

Boy did you ruin the market for these tins Congrats what a find !!! I found one in Cripple Creek many years ago,it was the Agnes,Mabel,& Beckie variety. This is the first time I've seen this variety.

High Plains Drifter, Believe me, I looked inside all of them. Many of them had a residue from the decayed "product". What amazes me is that these things cost a dollar back then. I bet many folks in the 1920's didn't make much over $20.00 a week in pay..

They probably turned em inside out and shook the *&(*%# out of em and used em again!!

That's funny you should say that because I read that they were reusable!! I started finding these tins in a wooded area near a park and ended up pulling alot of silver out of the area. I posted my finds about a month ago under the Lovers Lane title.
