3 Silver day and MY 1st SPANISH .... HOLED 1786 HALF REALE

HI GUYS AND GALS

Out today for a run....almost didn,t go...-8 celsius and some wind to boot.

Called cousin ED.. he was game....so off we went. Got to the spot we planned on going after grabbing a hot coffee.... the wind was hitting there...figured we better find another spot where we could get outta the wind some.

Boy am I glad we did.... I get to cross off my list what I wanted to find this year.... SPANISH COIN !!!

In bad shape tho but I,ll take it any day of the week....the 25 cent 1894 [key date] was totally encrusted in black coating...wasn,t til I got home that I even knew for sure it was a coin.

The coppers were in great shape for saltwater ..but everywhere else they are awful shape....must be the type of ground.

Few nice relics also....Ed found the 1st coppper coin on top / lead bale seal and few musket balls.

Any ideas on the what the top copper coin and the last copper coin is would be appreciated ??

Also ..what are the 2 identical items at the bottom...assuming some kinda holder ??

Nothing like that first piece of Spanish silver. I had my best year ever last year and found 4 of which 2 were in the same hole. Nice finds.

You had a great year then..... the 1/2 reales must be the most plentiful of the Spanish coins as seems to be the most type found ?

I had the pleasure of seeing Rick Nova Scotias Spanish coins....and wow are they ever pretty !!!

2 and 8 reales I think they were dug on land....just absolutely gorgeous coins.

However in the saltwater I,m most likely not gonna find one in that kinda condition....can always hope though !!!

Maybe the fields will be nice to me....if spring ever comes !!

Its about 8 above here, I would happily go out in that if there wasn't 2 feet of snow to go with it! After the snow last week there was snowbanks well over the top of my truck lining most of the roads! I can't wait till it warms up, Great finds!

You guys have been getting wallopped with winter down there this year...getting tiresome to look at ... time for spring to arrive.

Soon enough you will get to scratch the itch. Was out today -7 c ...finds were scarce today....so it seemed like it was much colder....we wussed out and came home early. Always the way when hunting anything...if ur seeing lots...the time goes fast and you forget the cold.

Try again tomo..but it is not giving + temps here for next 10 days...sighhhhhhhhh.

I suspect that your salt shaker lid is actually the top of an ink sander. In fact, I may have the rest of that which I found on the same beach a couple years ago. We'll have to try and mate them up next time we meet...
