Hey All,
Its been Awhile since I have seen Silver coming up out of the ground. So yesterday I decided to hit a place I normally hit for Gold. When I went there, there was an Excavation crew there ripping out the sidewalks and grading the dirt down. I asked one of the guys working if I could go thru the piles of dirt they had removed , he said it was fine and thought i was nuts
Well, instead of using my detector, i just used the pinpointer and started sifting thru the dirt, First metal object i got was a zinc penny, which i expected. Next target was a 1935 Mercury DIME!!!..It was Awesome..its hard to explain this spot, as I dont want all of North Texas trying to track it down
But the area is so littered with Coins and Jewelry, that when I detect it, i normally have to turn anything lower then a quarter off, because there is coins every set of the way.
The workers left and I decided to hit the area they had jsut scraped, and I had it still set on Quarter and Nickel mode only, when I get the first signal, which was extremly shallow, and out pops this beauty
its only my Second Standing Liberty since I have been detecting, But the first one I found with a Date! 1930
I was super excited and called my buddy to share the news, And as I'm talking to him, out pops a 58 Rosey.
So needless to say, I will be climbing in this dirt piles the rest of the week
Oh I didn’t mention that in the 2 hours I was there I also found 8 wheaties and about 3 dollars in clad..this place is SERIOULSY loaded with coins.
Thanks for reading!
