Hey folks... I have had 3 tough situatons this week, it's not looking too good on my part for at least 1 bank... i'll try and keep it as simple and to the point as possible...

I deal with 3 DIFFERENT banks weekly... we'll call them Bank A, Bank B, and Bank C...

Bank A: I've been going to this specific branch for about 2 months now, every weekend on a certain day and time... asked for a box of dimes and nickels... always no problem. They have a coin counter i dumped at as well, but they were all cool with what I was doing. This is a bank part of a HUGE chain.
Upon asking for coins over the weekend, the usual box of dimes and nickels, I was told by the 3 tellers sitting at the teller windows talking to eachother, they cannot supply coins to me anymore, they are now only allowed to keep "what they need" in their vault... and this specific day i DID NOT use their coin counter, nor the week prior, and when I did, it was always $25-50 in pennies.
I am hoping I can still use this branch for dumping... any experiences like this?

Bank B: a larger regional bank(lots of locations in my part of the country, through several states) with a coin counter I use every week, I dump $1,000 in half dollars each week...i've been doing this for the past 8-9 months now with no issues... UNTIL TODAY. The manager comes up to me while I am dumping my usual $1,000 in half dollars and asks if I have a business account(which I don't), and procedes to tell me that I need a business account to use this machine!! I don't know if it is just me, but that seems like discrimination?? please correct me if I am wrong.
So I am going to have to lay off this bank for a little bit, but I do have a credit card with this specific bank where I put on quite a large balance due to the percentage cash back and no annual fee. I do not have much in my account here. Should I sit down with the manager who confronted me about not being able to dump here? what should i say? what should I do?

Bank C: this is also a large chain that is nationally known(I am not disclosing the names for privacy reasons), I have a weekly order with them. I have establised a weekly order with them in December of 2011 and have been getting 2 boxes of half dollars and 2 boxes of dimes per week, the tellers don't seem to mind. They told me earlier this week that come december, my order is going to have to be cut due to the lack of space in their vault... they told me That my weekly order should resume come January... my only guesses are the holidays in december, but i have a feeling they will cut me off completely... what to do?? I always buy them christmas ornaments and treats come december, each teller gets a nice gift to show my appreciation.

Thank you for reading... if you have suggestions to certain banks, please specify, "For Bank C, I would do..." "For Bank A, I would do"... etc.

.also no color text..........

It is an accessibility issue. For those with limited or impaired vision, it is very difficult to make out the colors and consequently to read the forum. The new owners of TNet would like TNet to be accessible to the largest audience possible. Ideally, the option should be eliminated, but I'm not sure they have the ability to customize the editor.

1. You have to respect the vault size, there really is nothing you can do if they run out of room for your orders... Just sympathize with them eventually it will pay off. Keep them on your side..

2. Tellers > Head Tellers > Bank Manager > Regional Manager > Corporate. In this order I would calmly and nicely press the fact that you need coin or to dump and for them to tell you no as a customer is not really fair. Again sympathize with them and tell them you understand but again you are a customer and you use them for those services. Play mister nice guy and their game back to them, do not lose your cool or try to offend or personally attack them with words. In the order I listed, continue up the chain until someone understands where you are coming from OR just doesn't want to hear you b*tch so they OKAY it to everyone on the chain and you win. Worst case close your account and go elsewhere.

3. If the worse happens, as a last ditch effort explain to them it is against the law set by the FED for a bank to deny coin, see what happens, this works a lot they get scared.

for bank B... i failed to mention this coin machine does not require a bag change, all coins fall directly into a bin-- counts $1,000 in halves un under 5 minutes.
Bank B I have an acct with a bank and they let me use the coinstar for free. Open one and see what happens. Good Luck.

Which one is TD? They won't give me boxes any more, very frustrating.

Regarding the dumping situation, file a complaint. I did that against a particular TD and got a call from a district manager tonight, about 2 weeks after I filed the complaint. He told me I can feel free to use the machine as much as I want and that the manager was out of line. Going there this coming Tuesday to dump $2k in halves, yes, each $100 bag at a time, just to gloat and teach the manager a lesson in humility.

Regarding the last bank, they just need a break for the holidays. A couple banks couldn't order for me last holiday season, that's just how it is when the retail stores go nuts like that.

why dont we all just chill and start rollin'

td is bank A... how'd ya know one was td? i heard from others that it is a trending thing recently, hopefully all td banks don't switch over to this anti-crh thing!

Is this coin counter a free service to account holders? Is this coin machine allowed to be used by regular account holders?

Tell him to get it in writing that says only business accounts can use the machine if you refuses or doesn't file a complaint with the

FEDERAL RESERVE:notworthy: for discrimination.

I know they have been cutting across the board... I have been told by my PA branches that they cant stock extra... DE is still good... for now.

We/the site should set up gatherings we could go on field trips to coin places/money

We could go to the FEDERAL RESERVE bank of new york/philly then hit the U.S mint

That's tuff man. At the bank you have a credit card threaten to cancel it. I notice they give you a little. Extra leeway when you have a credit card or your account is over 5 years or both. They make the most money off you from credit cards so that is what I would threaten. If you threaten to close your account and they call your bluff that's gonna suck if you get bluffed out of a credit card no biggie. Much easier to replace.

TD's here won't let us order or buy boxes off of them. Boo! Other than that, I would speak with someone outside of the branch above the manager for bank B regarding the machine. Yes we do abuse the machines dumping such high volumes of coin sometimes but that is the gamble they take placing a machine in their lobby. They already discourage use of it from non acct holders by charging them a fee but offering it to acct holders free of charge. If they want to discourage volume they should put a fee in place over a certain amount. Otherwise if there are no written rules for how much coin & how often you can use the machine then they need to continue to let you use it with no problems. I would get approval from higher ups so the manager doesn't have a choice. Otherwise, like I said, they can put into place rules & fees to discourage what they don't want to deal with.

Thanks, i am hoping i can still use the machine... if the limit is $25, you know i will bring back $25 there... in cents.
if the limit is $100, you know i will bring back $100 in cents/nickels, etc. remember, $100 in half dollars is only 200 coins...

i might not speak to the manager for a few weeks as I am laying it low for now, but don't plan to give up too easy, and I am always polite. I will use that "D" word ;)

Same thing happened to me as bank c . But they cut me off forever because of no valt space. Still don't know what to do.
