31/12and01/13 1937 large cent,5 ct diamond, 925 amethyst ring, mystery box w/key.

Went out on the last day of 2012 to a house tear down and found a strange makeup box with skeleton key, a 1937 english large cent and a (5 ct. diamond in the wood chips). I have not had the diamond checked yet, but it cuts glass. On 01 jan 2013 I hunted some wood chip areas and came up with a nice 925 amethyst ring and some other trinkets. The Christmas tree could be real , but probably not. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for your replies! I will take the diamond to the mall to see if they can test it. I was also surprised that it didn't go under the wood chips!

I hope it's a real diamond, but with those scratches I would guess that it might be made of glass or something similar from a piece of costume jewelry. How did you come up with the 5 ct. number?--5 carats is a big stone! The stones in the Christmas tree might be real if the setting is gold. Nice set of finds there over all! Good luck with the "diamond!"
