Nice recovery on the bracelet.

The sauvastika symbol or more commonly known as a swastika was used and known as a Whirling logs in the Navajo silver work.
It was a good luck symbol and the crossed arrows were a symbol of friendship.

i tried finding them not yet lol
I think they was created around 1910

Would polishing this bracelet affect it's value negatively ? I know it would a eye catcher BUT.........
I don't clean my coins but have always cleaned my jewelry finds, never thought twice about it. What does everyone else think ? Should I clean it or not ?

Thanks for sharing the info !!! I know the swastika was considered a good luck symbol, I've seen it on pottery, tokens and even on Navajo rugs and other items.
This piece has no makers mark or even sterling nor 925, but it is sterling. I was wondering how old it might be, was wondering how long they used the symbol on their art work .

I have found two of the boy scout tokens like yours, the last one was about 10 to 12 years ago at an abandoned boy scout camp that dated to the early 20s. One wasn't drilled , one was.

First I'd wash it all with dish soap and water so to remove the dirt and dust. Then I'd probably lightly shine up everything with these soft cloth that Costco has for free in their Eyewear dept. to clean your spectacles, but leave the motifs blackened. I might just scrub the dirt out of the motifs with dish soap and water using this very soft doggy toothbrush I have given free by the groomers after each visit.

Thanks for the advice Tam ! I'm going to take it to a good friend of mine, who is native American and a life long silversmith with a shop here in town, to get his opinion too. Thanks again for your input, appreciate it !

It's up to you if you clean it or not but if you do - consider using a Ultra Sonic Jewelry Cleaner.

Nice find. Congratulations! I don' know why it would diminsh any value by cleaning the bracelet u and shining it. I do know it will affect the value of coins negatively, but I don't know that it applies to jewelry.

Russau, I took it up to my buddy Dan at Chimayo Turquoise and he said , to polish or not is a personal preference.
He also said he would leave it as is,, so I will. He said it is from 1900 to 1920 ! And appraised it at $250 to $300 ☺

Congrats on a great looking bracelet. I'm like you, I only water off my silver coins to clean them, no polish. I do toothbrush my Coppers and soak them in Olive oil for a week or so. I typically clean all of my jewelry finds with a toothbrush.
