I know this isnt the Coin Roll Hunting Forum but i thought it was worth posting. I hit it big monday. The breaks on my truck were starting to make that awful squeeling sound so i popped into the bank to pick up some cash. When i get to the teller i notice a silver half in her tray. I politely asked her if i could trade it for two quarters, and she said " sure, would you like the rest of them?" I said no i just want this one, it was a 1967 40%er, i was ticked. Then she said, "No i mean the rest of the silver halves?, a lady just dropped off some and we have to count them manually." I asked her how many she had, and she said 50 or 60 bucks worth. Of course i told her i would take them, and i waited patiently while she counted them off. I could hear the silver being counted, and would look over from time to time just to see what was there. She finally came to the counter and said, " I was wrong there was $251.00, do you still want them?" DUH. i didnt say that but thats what i was thinking. So i write her a check for $251.00, and head out to my truck to see what i have. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first thing i see is an uncirulated roll of 1963 Franklin Halves.. Brilliant mint luster never touched my human hands. Later when I got home i went through the box and found 140 90% 39 Franklins including the 20 that were BU, and 258 40% Kennedys. There were 101 90% 64 Kennedys, for a total face value of $199.00 Not a bad day thats a total silver value of a little over $3,500.00

I'm assuming you got your brakes done, or did you roll in your pile of silver for rest of the day?

Hell, I'd grab the wife and roll around in them with her...

What a great score.

That's a dream come true right there.

That's the type of find you want to make when roll hunting. Good job!

Wow! Congratulations!

(...You’d think that bank employees would know what‘s happening to the USDollar / Federal Reserve Notes and understand that older coins contain a large amount of precious metal...)

Sweet!

HAAA, and I got excited when a teller had two 40% 1/2's the other day. WELLL Done.

One of the reasons that bank tellers don't know that these coins that are made pre-1964 & older coins contain a large amount of precious metal.. could it be that most of the people that are bank tellers these days were not born before the 1960's and have no knowledge of these coins? :wav:
