Found more oxen shoes..couple rifle shells.

And BANG... detector range in a 79 ID ..

Dug and found the body at 8 inches..i was thrilled to see silver and the beautiful design!

Covered my hole and re-checked the hole and nothing....2 more feet and BANG 72 ID.!!

At 6 inches there was the top to it...SWEET !!!!!

Still trying to find a jeweller to fis it up for me..

The local one said was too bust ..so I,ll look elsewhere....but sounds like will cost $200 to fix it up...

The jeweller did say that all the pieces are there and the hinge is even working...so all good !!!!

Can,t wait to get it fixed up and post the results.

I know it is most likely not worth 200 but I really like the piece and think it will make a great conversation piece and hopefully I,ll have it for a long time...UNLESS I LOSE IT !!!!

Just something about it ...maybe cause it is an unusual piece.

Will post the pics of it when it gets back from restoration.

Just an update

Found a jeweller who is gonna fix this up for me !!!!

Starting it 1st of February...should have it back mid Feb.....can,t wait !!!!!!!

Said it will shine like a new penny.

Good Job Aqua. Look forward to a look see. Kind of hope you got a better estimate, as 200 did seem a bit steep, but what do I know. It will be priceless in the show case, so it really don't matter much the cost. For the record I spent 20 on my ship spoon, and it could be worth only 5 to most people.

Ya it,s kinda a catch 22 situation... it,s only worth 150-200 max

But it,s gonna cost min $200 to fix... but i told jeweller add another $100 to it.......... if it makes a difference in the end product.

Don,t care aboout what it,s worth....not selling it ever...... just want it to look nice for display in my living room.

Should have it back by mid Feb.
