Went down to the river front that is somewhat of a beach and holy geez it is lettered to death with pull tabs and bottle tops. Needless to say after digging about 30 of em in 15 or so feet I finally got the hang of the AT Pro sound for em and started passing em up so I could gain some ground. Didn't get a whole lot but the ring made up for it!

And just have to show off the V Nickel I got on my second hunt!

There can't be any other people detecting this town. No way somebody is missing this stuff and a beginner is picking it up. Talk about blessed!

Good for you,,
On the AT PRO,, there is a wide range of VDI numbers that will identify gold targets.
Unfortunately, pull tabs fall into that range.
Congrats on a nice hunt and the gold ring.

Way to go and nice pictures ,Did it ring in about 46? Almost all my gold has rang in right about there.I know it can ring in a lot of numbers but so far that's the only area mine have been in.

''There can't be any other people detecting this town. No way somebody is missing this stuff and a beginner is picking it up.''

I can think of lots of reasons why that statement could be untrue, but lets hope your right. That Gold Ring would be easy to miss by those that got bad habits. Best to stick with digging as much trash as you can, don't get in the habit of passing up anything unless your sure its a nail.
Just learn to dig the trash quicker so you can grid more area. Beep-dig-pouch (30 seconds or less)

Congrats on that beautiful V nickel. :occasion14: There may be others detecting, but they might be simply cherry picking and discriminating too much. I do find plenty of mid tone coins (nickels) in areas where others have hunted.

Congrats on the shotgun start. It took me a long time to get my first V nickel. The wedding ring is sweet.

Everywhere has been hunted... Some have been hunted more thoroughly than others though....

Best of luck to you sir!
