Went to do some dumping of halves from yesterday and stopped a bank that I usually do alright at once a month in cashiers tray halves.
Today was no exception !

$8.50 in loose from tellar trays = 1- 90% 1964 Kennedy

$40 in customer rolls from same bank = 8-40%'ers (2 rolls had 3 each and the remaining rolls one each)

I also found another dump bank with a free customer coin machine in the lobby...opened an account there and now have another dump bank

On a side note they will sell me the bags of halves if I want them. Trying to decide if the maching "rejects" them or not. I bought the $191 it had in it today and it was a skunk.... The machine is serviced by loomis, What says the hive?? Buy bags or use it strictly to dump?

I would use it strictly to dump - I've read too many reports about the machines mis-counting, and no one likes to get shorted.

I actually had something similar happen on a dump. I bought a box about 2 weeks ago, got 1 40% and 1 90%, plus a 2003 and a clad proof, so I expected $498.00 back. When I dumped, I was given back $496.00, and did some grumbling about the jerks that rolled the coins...though it seemed like all of my stacks (I do 1/2 box at a time) were of equal size. Anyhow, I dumped some pennies a week later at the same bank, and the teller gave me back the other $2 - it seems that they fells out the sides and no one noticed until later (and I guess that I'm the only guy who dumps there, because they remember me). So it was only the honesty and the memory of the tellers that saved my $2. Also, thinking about it, there have been a few other occasions when that happened also - not by much, but I believe that I've been shorted on the dump end of the transaction because of machine error.

Buy the boxes.

BTW, what bank is it with the public machines? My main dump bank does it all in the back.

Unless you need the dump bank immediately, I would buy the bags. If you later determine its being used as a dump bank by other CRHer(s), then use it to dump yourself. As far as the bag being short, I personally have never had one short enough to concern me. In fact, I've probably found more bags that were over than short. I've had more boxes that were short than bags.

Most of the better coin machines will reject Silver and foreign coins so use it as a dump.

It was a "sunflower bank" its a small local system in Kansas, not sure if they have branches anywhere else.

Since it was my first "bag" buy I counted and the count was what the machine showed, however they were up front and said it might be short a few bucks....

I might try to meet with the head teller and see what they do with the "reject bin" as well. I'm not in need of it for a dump bank yet so just wanted to keep them in my back pocket for a rainy day.
