4 brinks boxes of half dollars

Picked up 4 boxes today, all brinks.

I was happy get some proofs and NIFCs that I didn't have. Now my collection of NIFC (P+D) is almost complete. I am still missing the 2011D.
But..... the silver yield is low. Better to get a 90% than a 40% but one silver half for 4 boxes is low. I know a lot of people on this forum think one silver half per 10 boxes is great, but it is alot of work and time. I am thinking about switching to dime boxes for awhile. I scored last week on 7 rolls of CWRs (24x40%ers & 1x90%er). A couple of weeks a ago I picked up a solid roll of 1964s (CWR). My best box was 3 90%ers and 9 40%ers.

I think I will probably always have better luck with loose & cwr halves than I ever will with boxes. I should get my first half box for the month tomorrow and I know I'll be lucky if I get a couple of silver 40% or 90%. But based on my history of searching loose and cwr halves over the past couple of years I know I would have much better luck searching $500 of loose and cwr's of halves from many different banks with searches of $100 or less.

In my experience almost every time where I find cwr halves in amounts of $100 or more it is obviously just someones dump so I usually just don't even bother - or I just buy $100 or so of what they have and my suspicions are always confirmed. Which was the case just today once again. A bank had about $500 in cwr halves which I figured were just a dump so I just bought $100 and all the rolls and some of the coins were marked and it was a complete skunk just as I thought. But I was on my way to a dump bank anyway so I dumped the coins 15 min. later.

You will usually be correct in that assumption, but you very well might miss that HUGE score we're all looking for. Buy them all. Always.

Arkie is right, always buy them all. I've had a dozen times where 19 rolls were dumps, and #20 was solid silver.
