I save them as I save pennies. I figure if there over 50 years old might as well save them. I've got probably $20 FV in 40's Nickels and $30 FV in 50's nickels. There isn't much of a collectors base of them, now, but hopefully the interest gets there.
 

Good idea! Thanks for clarifying that for me, I have seen numerous posts about pre60 nicks. Hopefully they won't be the bust like the Ike dollars were... Everyone collected those like they were candy, now look - most of those are worth..... $1!

Also, nickels are kind of like cents in that the metal in them has been worth more then face. Don't think it is now but probably will be in the future. When that happens they will make them out of some crappy material like zinc or steel. I go through too many nickels to just hoard them but by saving pere 60, I'm slowly building up a hoard.
