Former CIA senior officer David Rush had more than $40 million in gold bars in his home in Ashburn and lied about his degrees, the FBI says. A neighbor told News4’s Paul Wagner what he heard outside their homes.

Apparently the metal detectorists have been digging in the wrong place. $40M in gold bars would be a nice dig. I bet it would sound off like a whole case of beer cans.

At $5K per ounce, it would take about 300 KG of gold to be worth $40M. Gold is so dense that you could fit that amount in a couple of shoe boxes.

I am SO surprised this made it to the media. Imagine the clandestine things they are doing when all they have to do is ask for tens of millions in gold to cover work expenses and nobody bats an eye or requires a paper trail and does audits!!! Guy had to have an accomplish or two.

Right Now The FBI is Probably at least 75% on the Right Side of the Law.

Not Sure on the CIA the fact the guy may have been an off street hire :dontknow: on an all you can Steal Paycheck for a 3 - 4 Years !

I Gotta Wonder if there are More

Well without getting political, I suspect a branch of the CIA plays a major role in the future of individuals and our country. I 100% feel their influence is 100% outside our Democratic Republic system. I’ll leave it at that.

Maybe severance pay.
What's the problem?
Don in SoCal
That sounds like something a Californian would say lol. What’s the problem with stolen tax money…. A LOT. Got the reservoirs filled up out there yet? Maybe your traveling on the high speed train system this weekend I’ll bet that is really fun.

Now that’s uncalled for. Californians cannot be lumped into a single bucket. Remember - we are descendants of settlers, pioneers and natives. We are victims of a flawed system created by people that never envisioned that democracy would rule the day over a democratic republic. Majority of voters live in high density cities, majority rules over the entire state. Most of the rural people have zero influence on the way the state is run. Country boy can survive!

There was a context clue in his post. “Whats the problem?” Speaking of the stolen money. Kind of an insight to a thinking process.
