Found this at 1800's house about 6 inches under roots of tree. 3 inches by four inches.

That would be the back lock plate to a smoke house style of lock. I got one myself last week....lol.

Those were some big ass locks back in the day! I found a whole one as well last week...wish I could find the key. I'll post up mine tomorrow.
