Monday the 2nd I went on another mini road trip to source some halves. Picked up 2 boxes of halves from my usual buy bank as well as $210 in rolls and about $40 in loose halves from tellers. Most banks I went to had no halves, I had to do a lot of driving. Was too tired to go through them when I got home so I waited until yesterday.
$100 from one bank was someones dumps, scored a 1967 Ken and a slightly abused 2002P NIFC.
$70 from one bank was someones dumps, scored a 1968 Ken and a 2008D NIFC.
$40 in CWR from one bank gave up a 1964 Ken, a 1968 Ken, and a 2009P NIFC.
All the loose halves from tellers I had them put in those gummy sealed currency envelopes and I marked them with the locations. Scored a 1967 Ken from loose halves from a bank in SW NC, and a 2003P from loose halves from a bank in N GA.
I saved the boxes for last, both skunks. These were skunk boxes #10 and #11 in a row for me. I made a dump bank run, and checked all the banks on my western NC route, no halves at all. My buy bank is out until the truck arrives today. I finally scored a silver dime from a box yesterday, a well worn 1946 roosie. Usually I only find silver in CWR's around here. Until now I've had nothing but skunks on dime boxes, but I keep trying.
I found a 90% silver 1982S Proof Washington Commemorative Half Dollar in the original mint box with documentation for below spot, so I bought it. I'll put up pics of obverse and reverse.
