Monday the 2nd I went on another mini road trip to source some halves. Picked up 2 boxes of halves from my usual buy bank as well as $210 in rolls and about $40 in loose halves from tellers. Most banks I went to had no halves, I had to do a lot of driving. Was too tired to go through them when I got home so I waited until yesterday.

$100 from one bank was someones dumps, scored a 1967 Ken and a slightly abused 2002P NIFC.

$70 from one bank was someones dumps, scored a 1968 Ken and a 2008D NIFC.

$40 in CWR from one bank gave up a 1964 Ken, a 1968 Ken, and a 2009P NIFC.

All the loose halves from tellers I had them put in those gummy sealed currency envelopes and I marked them with the locations. Scored a 1967 Ken from loose halves from a bank in SW NC, and a 2003P from loose halves from a bank in N GA.

I saved the boxes for last, both skunks. These were skunk boxes #10 and #11 in a row for me. I made a dump bank run, and checked all the banks on my western NC route, no halves at all. My buy bank is out until the truck arrives today. I finally scored a silver dime from a box yesterday, a well worn 1946 roosie. Usually I only find silver in CWR's around here. Until now I've had nothing but skunks on dime boxes, but I keep trying.

I found a 90% silver 1982S Proof Washington Commemorative Half Dollar in the original mint box with documentation for below spot, so I bought it. I'll put up pics of obverse and reverse.

Thanks. I like to dip each coin in rubbing alcohol to wash away skin oils, pat dry, then place into AirTites for protection. Skin oils can cause tarnishing, like that previous dark fingerprint on that 1964 Ken in the photo above, so I wear gloves when handling coins after they've been dipped. I used to buy the AirTites from APMEX, but I found them for from about $69 to $79 (about half the price of APMEX) in boxes of 250 of each size from a coin dealer on eBay, with free shipping to boot! I bought 250 of each for dimes, pennies, quarters, and halves. I still have plenty of the nickel and dollar sizes from my last APMEX batch buy.
