I went out with brother KirkTN today to a 200 acre farm he got us permission to hunt. There was some beautiful sites to hunt 2 maybe 3 old house places. Owner told us a cannon ball was found on the property about 20 years ago. No civil war finds today but some cool relics. I found 1 great seal eagle button and thought thats gonna kill KirkTN when he see's this. I went on about detectin when I started to think I should really pound that area where I found the button so I walked back over and immediately hit another one I then got serious and started really going slow and coming at it from different angles and wound up digging 5 in all. 3 - 23mm coat buttons and 2 - 15mm cuff buttons. When I couldn't find anymore I walked over to KirkTN nonchalantly and said are you finding anything. He started showing me his finds and I started to smile about to bust. I started by saying I got proof you need to buy you one of these Nautilus machines now. He said why and I said well I dug 5 eagle buttons today. He said Bullsh-t. You should have seen his eyes as I pulled out the buttons. Today turned out to be one of those days that really makes you look forward to the next hunt. Kirk found some nice finds also but I think I put a good ol country MDing woopin on him today.

John, excellent finds. Really, I think you should of replanted one of them so Kirk could find. Would you do that for your sweet lil brother? ;D I think you two should made a trip to the Louisiana Bayou Hunt...really not terribly far. Come on down!

Looks like you are getting the hang of the Naughty! I love mine especially with the 15" coil. Buttons are post CW but very nice! Keep at it!

Thanks Mac, I wish they were CW buttons but I'll take them. I know if I keep researching and being persistant I will get on an unknown CW camp/skirmish site. I have yet to find a 3-ringer and I am dying to see one pop out of the ground.

Dan I appreciate your kind words. I think after a couple months on this machine. I will be dangerous. We are very fortunate to have gotten permission to hunt this land and I feel it is very promising.

Thanks Nana these are the first eagles I have found. I wish they were not post CW but I am happy just the same. I enjoy reading your post.

Thanks Mike I do love this machine so far I've not found a situation yet couldn't handle. Is the 15" coil that much heavier than the 10" and how much depth would you say you gain? I am dying to find some actual civil war buttons.

Riverrat I wish I had thought to do that to Kirk. I remember when he brought me coffee one cold day and while I was having a drink he slipped a large cent in the hole I was digging and after the coffee I gave up on the hole and kicked the dirt back in. The end of the day came and Kirk ask me if I had found anything I said nothing he said are you sure. I knew something was up thats when he confessed. I'm glad he did or the large cent would have been gone. LOL -- I would like to go to the Louisiana Hunt. I haven't thought much about it, I'll talk to Kirk maybe we can make it happen.

very nice buttons

Buttons Be Thy Name. You pull this again and I'm gonna start callin' ya Buttons.
