50 coin day: one I wouldn't wish upon an enemy!

From the land of the Bluenose......well it had to happen and I'm sure that all of us have had "one of those days" where nothing goes right. Subconsciously even before I woke up it was one of those days as I dreamed that Marie ran away with the Maytag repair man! Too boot I thought I even woke up on the right side of the bed at the crack of dawn (no I didn't break it) only to remember it's my day off!

A trip into the motor vehicle to get a birth cetificate for Otto Moe Beal and a trip back out to get Marie's "Mary Henry". Another trip back into the motor vehicle that resulted in a much lighter wallet then off to a dig.

First time I had one of those Kodak moments I got another blow..my digital camera was toast. Anyway and undaunted I continued on my dig and hit my 50 coin quota which included a 25 cent. Pilipanas coin, Casino Nova Scotia (nice Bluenose on the obverse) token for 25 cents, gold guild sailor cuff button, golf egg and the 56 coins @ $5.47.

Getting home was a treat as the brakes on Otto were screaming like a Banshee and to boot.............my ball game is cancelled. Was looking forward to it as I have missed the first 3 of the season. Tried to take a photo of my finds with my old Kodak Easyshare camera and that too was toasted. Lord love a duck.

Trying to scrounge up a digital camera till I either get a new one or the Olympus is repaired. Charged me $15 just to have a look at it. Son of a sea horse.

After a day like this it's off to the "Smart Shop" to pick up Bud and his friends so that they can come over to watch game 5 of the Stanley Cup playoffs......goooooooooo Ottawa!

On the bright side............Marie came home with a naughty smile on her face. Always a salmon amoungst the herring in the net I saz.

Nice finds Leslie! My first digital camera was an Olympus, it died about 1 year after I bought it. Last Olympus I buy. They will want enough money to buy a new camera if you have it repaired in my oppinion. Buy a new camera and have a warranty, the 3.2 Megapixel cameras are cheap these days and do a great job, that's what I have. I have a Ricoh but I think the Casios are nice cameras. Almost bought a new camera a few times but I have no reason to. HH, Mike

Congrats on the finds and bummer about the camera.

I've been using a Kodak DX4530 5MP for the last few years and love it. Almost killed it once by carrying it in a pocket filled with sand. Don't even ask.

I'm looking at that sweet little Canon Powershot A560 7.1MP. My son has one and loves it.

Too bad a nice gold ring didn't pop out to reward you after dealing with that kind of day. Most certainly, better days are coming. Keep the goodies coming Leslie!

Smiles!

Nice finds. Don't know if you have a WalMart up there, but the have some 5 and 6 megapixel cameras for about $100...probably any department store would have the same ones. The prices have really come down in the last year. The one I have is a 4.1 mp but it doesn't focus well for close ups on coins; I've been having to use my scanner.
Keep up the good work.
