Hi all,
We had a big storm blow through here yesterday, and the ground got just the right amount of moisture to make for ideal digging conditions.
I went out for about 2 hours this morning and went to the ball fields where I had played baseball as a kid..I enjoy going here when school is in session, there's nobody there! I tried to get permission to hunt a couple of yards but was turned down, so I hit the fields. I noticed soccer goals set up, so I stayed around those rather than the baseball diamonds.
I got close to $4 in clad and ring #51, a nice silver one. I had "ring" on the brain so I thought I'd go out to purposely hunt one down.
The targets were few and far between, but as I was about to hang it up my display rang out "50 cents", so I thought I may be lucky and dig up another half dollar like the '64 Kennedy I found there a few weeks ago. Instead I pulled out a clump with this big round thing in it..I thought it was a piece of aluminum pipe or something because it was so thick! When I saw the design on the band, I knew I had something nice..I rubbed the dirt off the inside and even without the mag and reading glasses I could see 3 numbers, so I knew it was probably silver.
