Howdy folks... here's some more of my bottles from the shed. MANY more awaiting. None of these bottles have been cleaned good and some have been rinsed off only. I was hoping somebody would know the ages of some of these or any worth they may have. But thus far I guess nobody does and I admit I totally don't. But here's 3 more pics and brief descriptions if needed.

1st pic: I assume these are types of ink wells from the 1800's. Some have crooked necks and colors. The front one is very small or maybe used for something else. No writing or marking on any of them. No chips or broken glass.

2nd pic: I assume more ink wells but different types or ages. No markings. No chips or broken glass.

3rd pic: Left to right: 1st. About 9" tall. 8 sided below. No markings except on bottom. "H.J. HEINZ Co." "93" "PATD JUNE 17 1890" No chips. 2nd. 7 1/4" tall. No marking. No chips Very deep indented bottom at about 1/2". 3rd. 5 1/2" tall. No chips or markings. 4th. 2 1/2" tall On front "ELY'S CREAM BALM ELY BRO'S OWEGO N.Y.". On side "Hay Fever". Other side "CATARRH". No chips. Cork still in bottle.

That site is one of the best for IDs.
Dating, manufacturers, and so on.
Great looking inks.
Cone is one term used for most with the ring on the neck.
This link will help also.

Thanks guy... I'll check the link soon. I just have so MANY of them it will take forever I believe. I was just curious if any were worth a nickel or just load up on next trash run...? I still have 3 large boxes absolutely filled with them.

Third pic on the left is a Heinz ketchup bottle.
I kind of figured it might be an old ketchup bottle but was just wondering if it or any of them were collectable or not. Thank you... Brad

A fine collection of ink bottles. Wish I had more.
Thanks.... but, truth be told I am NOT a bottle collector at all. I just had fun digging all of them up from the many privy pits on the edge of my lawn. I had 7-8 or more I never got too before moving. I had some 8 sided amber and blue ink bottles I'm looking for somewhere. Didn't see them yesterday...? I'm just sharing what I dug to see if anybody thinks any are worth anything.

Hey guy... went to both sites. Left message on the ink well site. The top dating site was real useful BUT I have so damn many of these bottles it would take forever to date them all. But the few I did do all appear to be from the 1870's-1890's. So (maybe wrongfully) I'm going to assume all of these bottle are within that range since they were all found together. I'd just like to know if any are worth a nickel or dime. Hard to look them up when you don't know what they are (without writings). Thanks for the help.... Brad

You have 2 Umbrella inks there.(the multi sided ones)
The seam ends before the lip?
What is the pontil on the bottom look like.
Open or finished?
Picture of seam and bottom would work.
I have seen some asking $200 each for them.
Never discount the value of glass.
Might be a keeper or a seller.
Inks are highly collectible.
In digging many I only have one cone ink remaining.

Help me understand someone. How can the little bottle on right in 3rd pic above in 1st post be so different from the others I found. I looked up that bottle and one is listed at....

1890 Ely's Cream Balm $35.00

and the other same one at....

1890's Ely's Cream Balm $7.00

I went to shed today and found 4 more of them outside of the one I posted yesterday.

4th. 2 1/2" tall On front "ELY'S CREAM BALM ELY BRO'S OWEGO N.Y.". On side "Hay Fever". Other side "CATARRH". No chips. Cork still in bottle. What do ya go by if any of these are worth anything?

It's a case of getting rid of the last one maybe.
The $35 one states "Rare find"
Good point though.
Asking and receiving is a whole different thing in sales it seems.

Do this pic of the 2 multi sided ones work for ya? I'm hard pressed to find a side seam unless it's directly on one of the 8 sides...? I see the seam on your pic but nothing like that jumps out on the 2 you referenced.
