Great find on the Barber Paladin!

I dunno either and don't take this the wrong way Pally, but with such a rare score like a Barber a pic is in order!

Keep up the good work!

I understand if you find 40% and do not want to post pictures but the Walkers and Barber you need to post at least one picture.

Congrats

I have found many Walkers but not one Barber yet.

Barber finds must include pictures. It is one of the unwritten rules of coin roll hunting.

I bet those were some nice boxes to go through! Great job! Go buy some more!

Yeah 1914-S is a decent date. Less than a million made. Would love to see it. Is it in decent condition?

Not bad.. looks cleaned. You might want to tone it a bit to help get rid of some of those cleaning marks.

Darn it. I didn't even think someone tried to clean it. I wonder if that is why it was tossed back in to the wild.

This is how you deal with cleaned coins. I'm guilty too since I clean my junk silver coins also. I just want clean coins when I handle them. Just buy an old Wayte Raymond album insert and put the coin in there for a while. Over time it will tone and it will look a lot better.

It may have been cleaned @ some time - which is fairly common for a Barber halves - but it's still looks in pretty good cond. w/full rims (G+/VG) and is a better date too (mintage 992,000) and is a great find. :)

Besides - cleaned or not - it's still silver too! :)

That makes me feel better. I was exited to find a 1914 because I knew it was a good date. I was hoping for an S mint mark guessing it was rarer then the Philly mint, needless to say I had a chuckle when I found out the Philly one is the lowest minted Barber half.

Hey Palidin, I like your avatar picture 8)

Congrats on the barber!!! I love seeing them show up. Barbers are very rare, but are somewhat obtainable with a little bit of luck. now... 10-20 years from now, they might be impossible to get. We just got to get them 1 by 1 out of circulation! :icon_sunny:

I found 4 in July, but sold the 1899 O

yeah a 1914 would be an amazing find - it's the lowest minted Barber half (124,610) - and in even the same cond. as your '14S would probably be worth $100+.

I have a 1913 Barber half in VG+ cond. (I believe) that is the 3rd lowest minted Barber half (188,627) that I bought a few years ago on ebay for around $35 or so. I also have a couple of VG 1914S's also. Still never found one in the wild yet - yet. I did find a 1918 Walker this last week so I'm getting closer :)
