Hi;

Took advantage of beautiful weather in the SC Lowcountry yesterday. Went back to the area I hit a few weekends ago that produced a few eagle buttons and sort of had a dejavu. I dug five eagle shield coats, four eagle shield cuffs, one eagle I cuff, one navy cuff (blank back), one New York coat with a Steele Johnson bm. Six flat buttons. An assortment of brass odds and ends, some of which I will be posting on the what is it forum.

Holy buttons batman! Superb hunt!

Awesome finds :icon_thumright: I am in the Upper State here and we don't see many finds like that. I am very envious.

wow! i took advantage of our awesome weather as well-hit a fort on the stono river-only accessible by boat---hit some really great finds--but no where near as well as yours! great finds

SC low country is such a wonderful place. Looks like it is treating you right! Is that a Confederate Navy button I see? You are on a roll. Keep digging!!

This was a 14mm 2 piece blank back. Another forum dated it 1850-1860. Here is a close up.

Looking at both Albert's and Tices I believe this to be a federal button.

What you see is a full 7 hours of digging. My legs and But-tocks are still angry with me. Butt they will get over it (pun intended).

Hitting high ground on a river only accessible by boat would have my heart racing. Lucky you!

I would say that was seven hours well spent! :icon_thumright:
