6 months with the Equinox on this hunt

I visited a spot on the beach where some construction was being done. They moved some sand around so I decided to see if I could find some old coins. My first coin was a penny that I couldn’t see a date but later found out it was from 1918. I was using beach 1, 50 tones and just concentrating on coin signals. I was skipping all lower numbers until I got an 11 and just decided to dig and I’m glad I did because it turned out to be an 18k band I really wasn’t expecting any gold this hunt and I found one within two hours of being there. after this I started to dig low numbers but all turned out to be junk. I stayed there for two more hours and finally found a 1918 S Merc. I dug a lot of trash and very few coins but I considered this hunt a success.

This hunt marked my six months with the equinox 800 and it has treated me good. If I was a pro I probably would have done better but I have been in this hobby for 2.5 so I have a lot to learn still. The last picture is all my gold finds from the last six months with this machine and the only thing missing is a small .8 grams earring. The last rings in each row are my wife’s finds including the California pendant and all made with the Nox. Thanks for for looking and happy hunting.

Great finds sounds like you are definitely addicted funny thing is My wife doesn't detect and still ends up with all the rings turned some of em in for a 1500.00 water heater the restAnd the kids get the rest, Great post glad your doing so well together.

That’s quite a bit of cash you got for the rings. Lucky for me the wife doesn’t like yellow gold. If we end up finding some white gold or any other precious metal I would let her keep it if she wanted it though. We haven’t done too bad and it’s fun getting out there to stretch your legs and forget about everything else.

I have been using the new software but I’m going to do a factory reset and reinstall again. I have heard about a few people doing this and the detector behaves better.
