Firstly its still T-Shirt weather.:icon_scratch::laughing7:
Cru'Dad & I walked many miles (our legs feel it) around 4 huge fields trying to find new spots but we had to fall back onto the areas we knew - Shot-Gun Alley & the Trackway Site (plus 'The Hill'). These sites have been done pretty well & the recent tickle wasn't going to help much, although all the fields will be left un-planted over Winter.
7 hours produced;

7 Roman Coins - 1 Rare variant of a Victory Left we need.:icon_thumright:
Tudor Button
Will III Sixpence - Love Token
Lead Token
17th C Lead Powder Flask Cap (Civil War era)
Crotal Bell
Half of a 6th C Saxon Small-Long Brooch:icon_thumright:
Bit of a Roman Key.
Bits...

Is the love token the coin under the half penny? What's on it? I'm also curious what the rare roman might be worth to the right collector? Estimate.. Any day I find just a George is a lovely day. Hahah

Yes bottom left. Nothing is on it (well just enough for an ID), as they used near blank ones & bent them 2 different ways - thats what makes it a love token.

The rare Roman coin is worth less than Β£10 in its condition.

Nothing wrong with a 7hr autumn walk and a roman coin every hour or so. As long as you get a Saxon brooch as topper!

Nice haul ! I haven't seen you find many of those cut Roman coins ,kinda curious on that one ?
Brittle & smashed up by the plough. Although you do get the odd cut half Roman Coin, but more common are the cut down coins done in the late 4th C. They take a big coin & cut them smaller.

Congrats to you and Cru-dad.
It has been so rainy here, I'm thinking about tying a baited hook to my coil.

I see your putting in the hrs, nothing like walking a block of land in a day hot spotting for something. Well done on getting the crisp bronze, and the half of the Saxon brooch is really a nice find. It's finds like that that keep me thinking the other half has to be out there somewhere.

What's the little thin button in the lower left corner, almost looks silver?
