7 IH's 6 More silvers Big Colonial Button. Plus a bunch more

Hey everyone,

This weather has been great here so early this yr. I have been getting out a few hrs every other day with my youngest boy. I work nights so I can get some time in the day to hunt. But I gotta do it with a three yr old. I try and stay in safe areas. It has been slow as of lately.

Baseball has started so I will be pretty busy over the next 3 months. I won't be doing a lot of serious detecting. I will be mainly just coin shooting parks for the next three months a few hrs here and there.

I got a couple decent items this time. Anyone know what the colonial button is. Is it a dandy or a tombac. It is half dollar in size with shank missing and no back mark. Picked it up at a old colonial site along with the other one. Got three silver dimes a beat 1898 barber 44 merc and 46 rosie.

Silver has eluded me the past week or so. Got a sterling watch frame and a war nickle. Got the really nice and heavy sterling spoon ring at a old park. It is heavy but really small. Also found the match case that day called the Dueber. Nice little relic. The indians were common dates 1865 being the oldest. 3 beat turn of the century v nics. 1 beat up buff. Over 30 wheats and 3 trolley tokens.

Thanks for looking guys

hH Jer

That Shiv/Knife bespeaks not such a safe park area. The shear variety of finds is uplifting. Hope you take many photos of you and your son. You will be glad years from now. Enjoy him each and every day. HHHH

Thanks guys,

That tube thing you see is a small lipstick tube for quick touch ups for women. From time time I find them but often they are broke or very weak and thin. This one held up well. It probably dates to the 20's or 30's. Good sign when finding relics like these.

That's the best presentation I've ever seen ..... it's all perfectly aligned :)

Re: 7 IH's 6 More silvers Big Colonial Button. Plus a bunch more

Lots of good stuff in there Jeremy. Those Railroad tokens are cool.

Your finds are good for just getting out for an hour here and there. The 3 V nickels so far is a great start. Too bad those coins didn't hold up better.

As usual, Jeremy............ Those are some awesome finds and onece again, the time and effort you put into displying your finds to the detecting community is just OUTSTANDING :notworthy: :notworthy:

Re: 7 IH's 6 More silvers Big Colonial Button. Plus a bunch more

Some cool stuff. If the button has a hump in the center of the back it could be a tombac. From the color of the button I don't believe it is a tombac though. Is that a button in the very top left corner? In case you don't know key above the dimes is to a railroad lock. I know they had that type during the civil war but am not sure how long they used them before or after.
