While searching an old fort here in new jersey i came across two 769 caliber spent shells. What weapons did americans use to fire these rounds?

Thanks
Kevin

=diving doc Do you mean like the carbine in .44 magnum??

That is neither a good rifle nor pistol round for general hunting, under powered for a rifle, over extended for a pistol... {:>D > Doc.

There were various versions in Bp which equaled it incidentally.

Colt Dragoon with a shoulder stock attachment for example..

As Monte said, "nothing actually new" except for smokless powder.

hey diggum, did you forget that the military has to use ball ammo in their small arms per the geneva convention, or were you wishing to use the ballistic tips?........LOL.........grat info by the way

Hey Ricky, Just stating ballistic tips would be much more effective in a .223 for general use...

Buttttt.... here is a tid bit of info for ya. Many special units that are hitting NON-military targets are NOT bound by the Geneva Convention and ARE using expanding ammo... think COR-BON's and Ballistic tips!

Remember... the Geneva Convention ONLY applies to warring countries, not TERRORISTS! Terrorists ARE non-military targets, as is ANYONE not in a formal military belonging to a COUNTRY... like insurgents!!!

Have a good one guys! See you back in a couple more weeks!

;D ;D ;D

By the way... having a great vacation. Thanks for the well wishes!
