8/20/08 Today I found 5 silvers in the woods!!! Video added

[treasurefiend]

I went back out to the woods this afternoon. I found the 1940 + 1941d in the same hole & the pendant weighs 10g. The nickel is a 1943p silver war nickel. The place was a Boy Scout camp from the 20's to the 60's and it has been hit super hard by MD'ers for a good 30 years. But it still produces silver!!! Thanks for looking...
This is what I found:

Here are some pix from my hunt. I found some old pull top cans too. LOL

Nice finds! The Mercury is one of my favorite coins - did they come out that clean?

They are sharp like almost uncurculated for the 40 +41d, I did use soap and water to clean them off.

Oh, I used a flash when I took the pix so the silver looks shineyer than they really are.

You are a bigger man than I for treading in that high grass with the chiggers and snakes. Nice Finds for sure!

Hey Fiend, how did all that silver slip past Goio?

Very impressive finds! More gorgeous Mercs awakened from their dirt nap. I know how hard that place has been hunted. That place has really grown up since spring. Like levis_dad, I don't think I'd be trudging around in that high grass...... but, the reward goes to those who do! Congrats! You earned that silver for sure!

I have never came across chiggers here in upper IL and the only snakes that I have seen out there are gardner snakes. LOL Last week though a baby deer ran right past me like he didn't realize I was there until the last second. Another time a bigger deer walked right up to me. I didn't want it to not be afraid of humans so I used my shovel to bang on a tree untill it scared him away.

Looks like you had an awesome time hunting! Great job on the silvers! Yeah any nickels are hard to find! I always think they are a pulltab on my SE but then I get a nickel. Funny how it turns out that way! Good job on the two mercury dimes in one hole also!
