8/23 Nickel Box, So Few Pre-1960's but still managed Silver!

Picked up a box of nickels today, here's what I found.

7 x 1940's
5 x 1950's

1945D War Nickel

2 x 2009D
1 x 2009P

I usually have a harder time finding '09's than silver and I've never found an '09D - probably because of my location. But the 09P's have a slightly lower mintage anyway so I don't mind. I like nickels.

I just finished gettimg skunked on a $100 box of nickels. No silver, no 2009, no buffalo, nothing but a few 40's and 50's and black fingers. $:-\$

I love the black finger effect. and thats a shame, no 1950-d either?

just finished a small $18 batch of nic's I got earlier today @ WF. Scored a '72 canadian, '40D, 58, and maybe a couple of other pre-'60's as well as 2 buff's which I got in the same roll. One was dateless but the other was a partial date 1920 - early date but a high mintage: 63,093,000. The "58 has a mintage of only 17,963,652 in comparison. Too bad the '20 doesn't have a mint mark because then it would be worth at least as much as a silver Jefferson. This one is probably only worth about $.25-$.50 - but I'm still happy for the small score. I like nickels.

btw, I swear if I had a silver nickel for every '64 I found I would be a very rich man.
