Hey guys,
With 86,868 members here, I would think that we have a vote on what our legislators do... We are up against about three people sitting in their ivory towers per state being paid by us to make laws against us. Don't you think it's time to stand up for our rights and demand that these arrogant a$$es start working with us instead of against us. What in the world are they thinking? That they can not only locate the ships and sites, but have the funds to actually salvage them? We all know that they can't, yet we're allowing them to usurp our ability to go about this on our own. They can sit up there in their offices next to our legislators and give them good arguments as to their beliefs on a daily basis and there is nothing as far as input from anyone else. What are our reps supposed to believe? We need to at least, write to them and let them know the truth. Things like creating requirements that the average person (citizen) can't afford to meet. Permit fees that are totally unreasonable. For example, why would I want to spend hundreds of dollars to get a search permit for an area along the coast of Florida that has a 1000 to 1 chance of producing anything? Then if I'm fortunate enough to find something, have the state either deny the salvage permit or turn the site into a cultural/historic unattainable site. These are unacceptable terms and are created by our government to keep us from pursuing our happiness. Sound familiar? As I remember it's in our Bill of Rights. Get off your butts sheeple!
