To ensure that I will be able to dig all winter I broke out my no-snow machine. Wife got me a snow blower two years ago and it hasn't snowed but once during that time (2 inches, melted the following day). I take it out of the shed and put in garage in a ready five position until spring then I put it back into the shed. If you haven't tried this method give it a shot

That's funny! My brother did the same thing a few years ago with a whole house generator. He hasn't lost power for more than a few minutes since. He said it was money well spent.

Well, we ended up getting about 20" and lost power for 3 days. At least we were warm in the house, and my internet and Treasurenet addiction certainly suffered. I do praise Appalachian Power for bringing the world back to us.

Right as the snow ended and it was daylight, I put on my knee highs and walked to my neighbor's house. That walk down took me an hour, and I was pretty worn out afterwards. Of course then I had to walk back up the holler. I'm sore!
