Hi All,
Sorry for long story, but it was just one of those days. Well it started out going to church so that is all good. It was such a beautiful day out on the way home I said to myself maybe I should go detecting, but the problem was I wasn't feeling well at all, sadly that is a norm for me. Well I got home and my mind was saying go detecting. Well in the end I went around 2pm to do alittle bit. I arrive at a 1700's house that I have just started detecting, but so far the oldest things I have dug up was a couple Indian Heads one for the early 1860's. So of I went go to my first hole pinpointed dug the plug and want to use my hand pinpointer and nothing just dead. I said to myself darn must be the batteries, so I go to the car put eveything in the trunk to run down the road to get batteries ( yes i forgot to bring spares), close the trunk of the car move to the front and realized I just lockied my keys in the trunk of the car and my whole car is locked. Well I ended up calling the sheriff's department theny came unlocked for me. After I went and got the batteries , put new one in pinpointer and still don't work, so all that was for nothing. I went back to detecting got a wheatie and a few clad dimes and the usual junk. Toward the end of my hunt I got this real great strong signal and said to myself well here goea another zincoln. After a little digging I ended up with a nice sterling hair piece. It has some great hallmarks under the sterling in the back, I haven't figured out what they mean yet. The first two pics are from when i cleaned a little but not all the way, and the rest of them are from cleaning it some more. Oh I also found a dog tag they are cool to find. I guess the moral of the story is even it is going bad hang in there you never know.
