That is a fantastic piece, Very interesting Steve. You find some great artifacts.

Very nice finding !! Never seen one of those before =D

Very nice and rare artifact . I think I asked before if you stabilize your bone artifacts ?

That is an amazing find. Thanks for sharing,

Rare as hens teeth Steve. Most never survive. Here is one from the south east a friend had and he let me photograph a few years back. I have never even found a scrap of one. Nice save.

no disrespect intended but it is hundreds of years old and does not look like it needs to be dipped in anything

A cigar box ? Proper care and a nice display box would be nice .

i agree but i found it in 1989
and showing it now
i gotta admit my collection is unorganized to say the least so i cannot disagree with you........not enuff display boxes......to dang much work to do.....what can i say?.......i am guilty

Cool comb Steve, it is my understanding that some of the fine toothed ones were used to get lice and nits out.

Actually a cigar box out of the light would preserve it better than with UV exposure....but either way you can be sure Steve will care for it.

Steve
Yours is only the second one I have seen in a private collection. They are so thin.I am sure they were a prized item to own as they do not show up much. How old are you thinking?

You are the bone collector !!!!!! NOTWORTY !!!

maybe 400 -700 yrs old?

That's a special find, Steve. Here's a comb fragment from Massachusetts, with different size tines on each side. This, and the examples illustrated, were likely worn in the hair like a woman's barrette.
