You knew about the Green River formation which shocked me a bit. Good knowledge. I am not going to use this forum as a tool for solicitation, but if you want something for your collection, do let me know and I can probably find one on my shelf right here. The Tuscon show is coming up in a few days and there wont be much left after that until the next digging season, but there usually is some common species left over.

That's awfully kind of you, send me a private message with your email address and we can discuss off line.

Those are just unbelievable! Finding a fish with another fish in it's mouth.........what are the chances!! Nice work and welcome!

P.S. You'll love the AT:thumbsup:

Welcome from Middle TN. area... kinda close to ya. Dude those fossils are just OVER THE TOP buddy. They are fantastic and I envy you finding them. Great job!!!!! If ever you get to this area or want to explore just contact...

WELCOME TO T-NET GUY.... There's a LOT of smart folks here (not to be confused with me).... :occasion14:

My arrival date is April 1st to Jackson Mississippi area. I would very much like to meet great people in the area. Starting over sucks, but I have to make the best of it. My wife is transferring her job, so I must follow her desires because she makes a whole lot more money than I do. Not too thrilled about leaving Wyoming, but Mississippi will prove to be an interesting place to hunt for whatever it is im looking for! LOL
Very nice folks on here, thank you all!

That fish with another fish in its mouth is called an "aspiration" and that is how that fish died actually. It is quite uncommon indeed, but we find 1 or 2 a year like that. It is always neat to find uncommon things in the layers of rock. There is always something in there but you never know what you're going to uncover next. Thanks for the kind words!

Moving to Jackson Ms. April 1st. New friends are always a treat to a new start. Hope to meet up with you soon!

I am just in awe of your pictures. As a boy growing up on the Ky/Tn border, I spent more than one day searching for fossils on a small creek bank. I could spend lots of days in your area doing the same now! Welcome aboard. We have a sub forum here that would love seeing your beautiful examples if you haven't already shared with them. Good luck with your move. Hope you like humidity!:tongue3:

Fantastic pictures and finds. Love your collection. Those fish are awesome

I can barely navigate my way around these forums as it is because I am one of those "inept users"..... And, no I am not real thrilled about leaving the natural air conditioning of Wyoming. My wife is a chemical engineer for the BLM and she has the right of say where we go for the time being, but I am not complaining yet.
There is no gold to be found in Mississippi but I am bringing my mining equipment anyways. I will find some somewhere, maybe Alabama or Tennessee.
I am studying the matter daily. We really enjoy it a lot and I am sure we will look silly dredging for gold in Mississippi but, we are going to do it anyways to keep our skills honed. LOL

You are not alone as an "inept user"...I've been called worse by the local library! Lol!
As for gold, its where you find it! Go for it!

Welcome aboard TNet! That's a cool fossil!

If you find some spots in Vicksburg and want some company, let me know and I will drive over from Jackson!

Man, I am in Jackson right now, got here Wednesday. We are in the process of buying a house on Catherine Lake, Byram and should be moved in by the 1st of May. We bought a nice motor home to accommodate us until then, so we are set up in a RV park on N. State St. Looking for a job right now, and after we get settled in, it would be great to meet up with you!
