A BUCKLE & BUTTON FOR LUNCH
Well the weather was at least bearable today, so I hit my usual farm down the road at lunch for a bit.
I decided to concentrate on the gravel & dirt driveway in front of the house since it was shaded. I brought my trusty rock hammer, because the dirt below the gravel is just as hard.
Although I dug a few rusted iron targets, I did get a couple of keeps too.
They were:
*A small buckle with a great patina. It looks to be copper (?) with a brass or gold layer.
It measures just over 2" long, and 1.5" at the highest point. It is a thin metal, and easily bendable.
Any idea what this buckle would have been used on?
*Another old 1800's button (20cm). It has a flat front, and a design on the back, but not letters.
Any info or approx. age of this one?
*Two of the usual 1940's wheats (1944 & 1946).
A short hunt, but at least took care of my appetite.
Thanks for looking,
MM
