I looked for 4 hours today in some fields that have been planted in wheat. Deer season starts Saturday so I wanted to look as much as I could. We don't find many quartz points in southwest Georgia. I was real pleased with the other point.

Nice finds! What type is the large point? Would be a Morrow Mountain here in NC. Wish I had some quick stops I could make during the week!

Nice finds for sure. I would guess the quartz a greenbriar and the stem point a Pickwick ..but that's a Florida boy talking.

The large point looks like a Marion to me. Either way, a nice point - Congratulations on the find.:icon_thumright:

very nice find.!!
and in texas it would be called a gary

Haha.. How about.. Nice archaic stemmed point.

Wow..those are good odds!

The large one is beautiful. It looks like a Savannah river with a Morrow mt. stem. Im sure it is it's own type, I just don't know what to call it.

Look at all these posts...and Americus... the Guy who will be able to answer best hasn't even replied yet...ha... we sure like guessing.. kinda like a game show.......I can name that point in three photo's Alex... :)

its a Marion , which is a cousin to morrow moutain, which is the same looking point that here in texas is called a Gary

Nice looking points!

Which is related to the Newman..Which is related to the Pickwick ..Which is related to the Alachua...Which is related to the Putnam...

Here is a Marion from Lake County Florida... and a Pickwick From Seminole County Georgia.

Also a Marion..Alachua..and a Newman in my hand. My only point of doing this is that there are alot of middle archaic stemmed points who styles become almost indistinguishable from one and other with very little variation
