Just a short note to say thank you to ridge runner for taking me to the CW bullet site. I met up with him and oberkill for a short hunt and the weather was great.....as was the finds. I found a 58 cal, a few 69 Cal's and a round ball of some sort. Well it was round before it hit whatever it did, now it is only half round...lol. Anyway, thanks for looking and thanks ridge runner for taking me. Its always nice to get out with friends and a few more bullets are a plus......HH all.......gregd573

Love them finds!!! Always great to have huntin' buddies!

Congrats! Nana ;)

Thanks all and Thank You Nana for reminding me I had a birthday........i was really trying to put that out of my mind....lol. happy hunting all..........gregd573

Nice finds Gregs.

The bullets are where you find them. Finding them in a CW area though seems to bring more meaning to them. Lost an uncle in the civil war.

Nice finds Greg, always glad to see Missouri boy's do well! :)

Thanks tsgman, sooner or later I will start to find the goodies your finding.....I just got a lot more practice to put in...lol. I am talking to a fellow down south of Ava to do a little detecting maybe, sounds like there was quite a bit of civil war action down there. I might need to pick your brain on this area sometime. Thanks again........greg

Man, I'm really starting to like this old stuff. Thanks for sharing.

With all the .69's flying around there's bound to be some "popped" button's somewhere. You all definetley picked up some nice lead,Congrat's and HH!!

Thanks civilman1......I agree with you whole heartedly. From what I've been told this area has been hunted to death, plus some, but I'm thinking the glass is half full and somewhere in that approximate acre of woods is a coin or button......something. I would like to go back there when the weather is just a bit warmer and spend the day. HH all.............gregd573

Greg - Lets do it soon. We dont need warm weather! It was good hunting with you. I think next time we hide Scott's shovel to give us a chance!

Alan

Good job Greg. Looks like your luck extends beyond raffles at Caldwell. ;D ;)

Thanks Alan I had a good time also and enjoyed the hunt with you and Scott. Good idea on hiding Scott's shovel. Hope we can do it again sometime soon......there just has to be a button or something in them woods somewhere....lol.............HH.....greg

Ouchhhhhhhh...........BB. There went that one last good feeling I had....lol. Thanks for stopping in.......keep'em swinging.......greg

Well the Caldwell luck did extend into the hunt this weekend. Greg is one lucky fella!!!! Oh, and a birthday!!!! What, no one told me or I'd have brought a cake. Don't know where I would've found that many candles though on such short notice!!!! Ha, ha!!!! Happy B-Day Greg. Belated of course but the heart means well.
Well, Alan & Greg, about the shovel!!!!!!! I hate to tell you this but last night while schmoozing the internet I did some research on digging tools. Of course I went straight to Predator on-line!!!!!! Who wouldn't. Talked to George L. personally, very nice guy indeed. I hate to say it but I have a model 58 Little Eagle in the mail as we speak. Had to do it fellas. As you know while hunting there Sunday I broke and bent the shovel that I was using. Actually on about every hunt this past 6 months or so (with Schloopy) I've broke or bent one shovel or another!!!!! LOL!! I'm getting tired of going to the local hardware and paying $10 dollars every couple months. So, I spent the hard earned cash for a digger that has a dang 5 year warranty (in writing I must add). So, the next time we all hunt you won't have the chance to hide my shovel because before I leave the house I'm tying the Predator to my hand. I guess I'll just have to figure out how to drive like that.
Anyway, guess some of us will be going back this weekend, probably Sun. And then the next weekend too. Hope y'all can make it again.
Greg, I had a good time as well. You and Alan are great company. It was kind of funny watching Alan try his new machine out. "Hey come here and check out this signal Scott is all I heard"!!!! I didn't mind though! It was a good test for both of us. I even heard him talking to himself or the machine a few times. I never figured out which he was talking to but it was kind of funny. I know at one time he was talking to one of the holes he dug because I could here the echo in the hole. I think that was the hole where the BB sized lead came out of!!!! LOL!!!!!
You two are great hunters and friends. I look forward to the hunt very soon. Take care buddy......Great finds by the way!!!!!!

Scott

I always like to swear just loud enough to scare the relic out of the ground! If we cant hide your shovel then its back to plan B and wacking you over the head with my shovel! The I'll push you in one of those holes I dug chasing some phantom lead...... lol We'll dig you up before we leave of course.

Alan

At least throw me in a hole with some lead in it so I'll have something to find whilst you guys find all the other goodies. And no, I don't mean put lead into me before you throw me in the hole????
