It has been raining here off and on for over 24 hours and although we really need the rain.... I want to hunt. I guess it is an addiction since I was unable to get out the last couple of months. During a break I went out this afternoon and found two rings, neither good ones - a small childs earring, some other stuff and a total of $1.31 in clad.

Here are different views of ring 1 I think it's a toe ring. Pretty.

Ring 2 was really bent up and I straightened it out some. It is just a wire-type ring.

Here are two views of the child's earring. I thought at first it was silver but... alas... it's not. No markings on it at all.

This is my prize for this morning and I have no idea what it is. QUESTION: Why is it I'm always finding stuff I can't identify? :D It looks like tiny binoculars. They are heavy metal of some kind, maybe brass? On the large end you can see that something can screw into the large end. The small ends are each a little different.

Well what ever it is.... I like it. I had a great day. How about you?

MUMSZIE!!! Great to see you posting again! You got some good stuff today. Love that first little ring, very pretty! And yer right about the what'sit...looks like tiny binoculars. :D

Nana ;)

The 'binoculars' are probably some sort of pull that dangled from a beaded chain or a knot at the end of a small string. Judging by the belled end of the dangling thing. Never seen one that I could compare it to. Just recognized the chain holder. Maybe it had some sort of porcelain or glass fixture attached.

GL!!

Man...a while back someone found something EXACTLY like that. Dont' know if it ever was identified or not. May have been on the whites message board. Good luck.

Hi ya mumszie,,,
Good to see ya posting again. I saw a post from you the other day and didn't have the time to reply. Those little tiny binoculars are pretty neat. My closes guess would be some type of nozzles, for what is beyond me...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Neat, whatever it is. There are two different size holes in one end, maybe used for measuring something? Way to go!

Great job Mumszie cool stuff.

The brass in the last pic is from what is known as an Indian Pump. It is a 5gallon tank that is carried on a firefighters back for fighting fire in grass and woodlands. The piece you have is the nozzle that is on the end of a hand operated pump. I haven't seen one of them in probably 30 years.
GOOD FIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What retiredfire said!!!

I have spent many hours lugging an Indian Pump around the hills of Western NY fighting brush fires and am quite familiar with them.

Good eye retiredfire.

Well I'll be..... my son does some firefighting and he came up here this weekend and sure enough it is exactly what you guys said it was. The nozzle from an Indian Fire Pump. I even found one on the internet.
