Got out to one of my old sites on Friday afternoon for a short hunt and finished up on Saturday morning ... Old home site now a farm field. I've hunted a colonial site on part of this site and through research discovered there were 2 more old homes that once stood in the field as well. Hope to find the other location on a return visit next week. Had a great time and found the following items: 5 wheat pennies, an old gold plated ring, Woodrow Wilson coin/token, 1949 rabies tag, couple of buckles, very nice old key, a thimble, and several more relics. Anyone have any ideas on the shield item?

Very nice skeleton key! I always like finding those. Not sure what the shield thing is?
Thanks for the reply Cool Hand Fluke ... Probably the most heavy duty skeleton key that I have ever dug!
