a curious button/?

I have no clue found this in a well hunted cw battle feild along with bullets and led.

It looks to be an old navy button, but looking at the back I would have to go to civilian fashion button, probably used as a fashion belt. Now if the piece hanging off the side is part of the rim for a two piece button than I would say you have a military button. Either way you go it is still a nice find.

At first I thought military because it is the front to a two piece button but it is out in the middle of no where

It's the size of a dime so it's cuff size. No enamel. I was wondering if it was off of a metal , maybe connected to something either way I am stumped
