I met up with Greg and Larry this morning at a smaller, more modern park and I pulled out a 1964D Roosevelt Dime. Then Greg had to go back home to do Christmas stuff, so Larry and I headed over to one of the old parks in town. Within the first 30 seconds I had a 1926 Wheat in my pouch. I then found a deep, iffy signal that turned out to be a 1910 Wheat. Then I went to a spot where I have dug lots of silver in the past. I was in a small spot where there is gravel at about 2" deep. I got an OK signal, dug down and out pops a 1946 Roosevelt. Not too shabby.
Then I got hungry and had to eat.
On the way home Carl gives me a call and says he has some food at his place. I'm there!
Then we went and hit a couple of old school yards. The first field is a corn field and still has stalks pretty high, but I still managed an 1895 V Nickel and a Eagle I button! It's tough to make out in the picture and has some damage, but it is what it is!
Then the next school was in beans this year, so we could swing freely, but had to have our coils about 3-4" off the ground or else we would hit the bean stalks that still remain. I dug an 1879 and 1897 Indian Heads while there. Carl dug a nice 1875 Indiana Head... Maybe there is a 77 out there
