Shaun7 & I arrived earlier than Dad & did 9.5 hours searching (Dad did 6). We easy covered 1 acre of land each, it was a hard digging day :P Conditions were perfect.
We both got off to a good early start with a Roman Brooch (1st C) to me & a Medieval Buckle to Shaun7, but the middle of the hunt was tough. On the second to last run I got a 1697 Shilling off the top & a 1567 Hammered to top the day off
Dad got bored as usual & wandered off to to a nearby mound, his luck was in & he got a Bronze Age/Iron Age/Roman Bronze Awl (They changed very little & I guess this would be Roman ). A very nice example & only our second ever.
4 Scrappies
Late Medieval (I think) Key.
2 Hammered
1697 Shilling - Far rarer to get than a hammered, this is my best example ever.
Nice Tudor Button
Nice Victorian Military Button
17th century Buckle
44 buttons
& bits.....
A hard but rewarding day
