I love roses ... this one was a bit different in shape and usually I won't take them, but this one had really nice shape to the petals. I added a bit of texture from a thistle plant's thorns to the petals.

I recently cut two rose bushes down to the ground, dang things were growing crazy. That was hazardous tasks and I ended up with several scrapes and punctures. They'll grow back but I'm going to try to keep them trimmed from now on.

You know what, I don't own a rose bush for just that reason. Painful!

Neat to go look at them at the park or in someone else's garden, but with me being on blood thinners, I don't need the trouble of dealing with that. That's also why the black berry bushes along the fence had to go.
