Most if not all were found pre 12yrs old. (50+yrs ago).
Just ran across them in storage.
Thought I would share, what little is left.
The steel one was found up on an interior lake. Pull Ed up the boat to stretch the legs and have a look on this sandy little beach.
Made my day getting to eyeball it before other sibling and parent.

Great finds! Where was the lake and what kind of metal do you think it is?

Thanks

The Lake was in the northern region of the Okanagan Valley in BC.
Which is the Secwepemc (Shuswap) Nation
Some of the points come from the Little Shuswap Lake area as well.

It's made from steel-probably repurposed from a wagon wheel most figured (adults) at the time of discovery.

Yesterday was the first time I had seen them in 28yrs.

I must thank the family for squirrelling them away while I was in the habits-as I would of liquidated these as well in a heart beat at the time.

So so nice, that’s a beautiful collection that you have,,The other day I went searching for them along a creek for the first time I saw a nice gravel small rock sand bar exposed due to the water level lower..
I hope to have better luck next time out..

Cool finds!

Was the metal point cleaned up?

Just the sand wiped off, never cleaned, or had any coating to preserve it from furthere decay.
But being wrapped up in a kleenex, there was no rust on the paper.
So I am wondering what is the best thing to do?
Leave as-is, wax, or something else?
Any suggestions from the minds that would know?

What lithic material are the other points made of? I first thought obsidian but not so sure from your pics.

Should taken more time many do and photo them properly.
Yes they're obsidian-had a little red jasper in the area but rare.

Excellent finds!
Seems to be an odd patina for steel, maybe get that to someone that might know metal artifacts better.
