A few colonial finds from the field.....got my 15th copper of the year

Hit one of the fields with a good buddy and we did pretty good. For you Deus guys, it was a testing kinda day....I about had enough of v4 so I downgraded back to v3.2 and my buddy was using v4, we were comparing signals all day and we really didn't see much difference, the machines seemed equal so I'm staying on v3.2 and I like my Deus again I really didn't like v4, it wasn't for me....actually hated it even though I was having some success with it, wanted to throw Custer in the lake....Custer is my machine's name.....long story

Anyways I digress.....here's my stuff from the field....the keepers....buttons, buckle frags, a few cool doo-dads and copper #15 which I believe to be a late 1700s Hibernia half penny. Still need to clean it more to try and pull some details out of it but those lines seem to point towards a Hibernia, if you can confirm or deny it please let know...

The copper.....its hurtin but it is what it is and that's an ollllddddddd colonial coin and they sure ain't making any more so I'll take it

I can't help but think of the monetary value of a copper in those days. Losing one would make a person cry from the monetary loss. Yet so many of them were lost. I often wonder how the losing happens when they were so valuable. Then I think, battles, robberies, horseback riding bouncing around and it makes sense. 15 YTD Coppers! Awesome stuff

Was my first thought too but I talked myself out of it.....did a little more cleaning on it and it is definitely a Jersey copper, got some of the plow details to come out on the crusty side.

Thanks....Mr Scrappy was right.....NJ was my first thought too but talked myself out of it and into the Hibernia....did some more cleaning and got some of the plow details to come out....it's ugly but it is what it is and that's a NJ copper....Chuck Norris' favorite coin of all time

Thanks Scrappy.....you were right.....NJ it is....worked it over some more and got some of the plow details to come out....its ugly but its all good in my book. My original thought was Jersey but I talked myself out of it. Anyways, thanks again, much appreciated

The first thing I thought when I saw those lines was the Hibernia harp as well. I like scrappy's theory more now though. Looks like a NJ copper.
