Hey again yall…well I gathered up a few more things in the last week or whatever since that last post...and this time I wouldn't dare hold out on ModernMiner again...but yea we went to our cottage for a few days and hunted with Goldiver again as he mentioned and it was a nice hunt; thanks to him again..my pull was a nice-looking 1920 merc. We aslo hit up a few other parks in the area that we rarely get a chance to detect throughout the year, and my best coin was only a nice 1934 wheat but oh well.
Out cottage was built sometime in the 70s, so you wouldn't have high hopes for finding much silver in the yard. Well it's a big yard and just last month I found the first silver on the property, a Rosie (also a few wheats), and I found an Ike there last year or something so what the heck. I just spent a little time before we had to leave and got signal that you would swear is silver...sure enough it was the 54 quarter. With the unexpectedness and all that, it was pretty sweet. 8)
And then just yesterday we were out and decided to hit one of our usual hunting sites. I was finding a lot of surface quarters, some of them weren't alone...so I had just plucked one and started searching the immediate area around the hole to see if there was another coin involved in the drop within a foot or two of where the quarter was, when I got some sort of deep signal that got my attention that sounded like it coulda been iron or possibly a pull tab about a foot away. It was weird but I got it to repeat enough in one direction with high enough tones for me to dig. I was about to flip the plug after cutting but I stopped and stood up to analyze the signal a little more and found that pretty much any other way you swung over the target, it either sounded like iron or had low nickelish tones in it and sounded like trash. But so obviously I'm glad i did dig it, and Mirage walked up just in time to see it was the 58 Rosie. It wasn't super deep or anything but it was weird.
So that's about it for now, hope you all find some more goods too, HH!
