Nice bunch of finds! I picked up a few up your way when I was about 10. Went camping at Buggs Island State Park. Lake was up real high but found a some on road banks around. Don't know if it is true but was told one of the largest Indian wars recorded took place were the twos river come together at the lake. Stopped at a little store in the middle of know where and the man had a super huge collection from the area. They were all over the walls , in boxes and display cases slam full ,axes laying everywhere. Biggest collection I had ever seen.

That little store has one of the finest collections I have ever seen. The area you are talking about is exactly where I hunt. Last year the water hit near a record low. The island in between the Dan river and the Staunton/Roanoke actually emerged. Here is a pic of it.

The Bacon's rebellion was fought there. The island is 5 miles long and was home to the Occaneechee Indians until Nathaniel Bacon betrayed the tribe. I have books on this one spot. Artifacts can be found on all 850 miles of buggs island's shore. I've walked quite a few of these miles. However, the artifacts found at the island intrigue me far more than ones found elsewhere.

Nice finds Rusty. A bunch of field have been cut along 501 near the little river. So fat I've only found two hammer stone and chips. You'd think there would be more there if hammer stones are found.

Im sure that more is near. I have been hunting Buggs island, falls lake and the new road they are building. Do you still have my number? Call some time if so. We'll hit the lakes!
