A few finds from this week and today. Below, found the bullets during a 30 minute lunch hunt. Found the buckle and a man’s ring in some dirt mounds where they are building new houses later in the evening.
Found the rest of the finds today. Was raining and very cold, only got to hunt for about 1.5 hours when a storm rolled in and snow flakes appeared. I started on a harvested corn field then moved to a grass field to clean off the boots, boots got cleaned and so did I. I was dripping wet and chilled to the bone when I got to the car. Here’s a few bits I found. Head of a brass nail, a bovine ear number half, glass button and a small copper button.
The lead. A large caliber musket ball with the mold nipple still attached, a headless horseman, found the stand a few feet away from it. Part of a lead seal, another lead seal with a thick white patina. A lead soldier stand and a smaller shot musket ball.
Some kind of intricate harness mount piece.
Reverse of the mount piece, has a loop where a belt or strap went through.
A holed copper coin, date looks like an 1850 and a nice little religious pendant.
Reverse of the coin and pendant. Look close at the shield on the pendant, I found another pendant with this emblem on it and the same shape of a Maltese cross awhile back. Has several symbols on it. Supposed to be in the low 30s all weekend with some snow, Brrr. HH, Mike
