A Jetton?

Surprise Jetton dug yesterday in South GA. It’s brass or copper. Cool find in my book.

And this is how it looked once. Minted in Nurnberg like most of them are. Obverse with King Ludwig XVI what narrows the date to the third quarter of 18thC. So you were very close!

OK, I've tracked down the master Jetton Makers name;

Georg Hoger - 1764-88.

That's a very interesting find. I am willing to bet that those were used interchangeably as money even though they were specifically made for something else. Congrats on it I hope to find one some day!
